Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 31, 2026
Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the DirtMath service. This includes:
Account Information
- Email address (used for authentication and service communications)
- Password (stored in hashed, encrypted form — we never store plain-text passwords)
Farm Field Data
- Field names, boundaries, and acreage you define within the app
- Input costs, crop types, and other data you choose to record per field
- Yield and harvest records you enter
- Season and year records associated with your fields
Usage Data
- Basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and IP address
- App feature usage patterns (e.g., which sections are accessed) to help us improve the service
- Error logs and crash reports to diagnose technical issues
We do not collect location data beyond what you explicitly provide when drawing field boundaries. We do not collect payment card details directly — payment processing, if applicable, is handled by a third-party processor subject to their own privacy practices.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the DirtMath service
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account
- To sync your farm data across your devices
- To send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation, password reset)
- To respond to your support requests or questions
- To diagnose technical problems and improve app performance
- To notify you of material changes to these policies or the service
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We will not use your email address to send unsolicited marketing communications without your explicit opt-in consent. If we ever introduce a newsletter or promotional communications, participation will be voluntary.
Data Storage
DirtMath uses Supabase as its cloud database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase-managed servers located in the United States.
Supabase implements industry-standard security practices including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- Encryption of data at rest
- Row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data
- SOC 2 Type 2 compliance for infrastructure security
While we and our infrastructure providers implement reasonable technical safeguards, no method of data storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
We encourage you to use the built-in Excel/CSV export feature to maintain local backup copies of your farm records.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information or farm data to any third party. Ever.
We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With infrastructure and service providers (such as Supabase) that process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect your information and use it only as directed by us.
- Legal Compliance: If required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wild Roots Group LLC, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice and ensure data is protected under terms at least as protective as this policy.
Your Data Rights
You have meaningful control over your data. At any time, you may:
- Export your data: Use the built-in Excel or CSV export feature to download all your farm field records at any time.
- Correct your data: Update or correct information directly within the app.
- Request deletion: Contact us at hello@wildrootsgroup.com to request deletion of your account and all associated data. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when complete.
- Request a data copy: Request a copy of all personal data associated with your account.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@wildrootsgroup.com with your request. We will verify your identity before processing sensitive requests.
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with an applicable data protection authority, depending on your jurisdiction.
Cookies and Tracking
DirtMath uses a minimal number of cookies and local browser storage mechanisms, limited to what is necessary for the app to function:
- Authentication session tokens: Used to keep you logged in between sessions. These are set by Supabase's authentication system and are essential for account security.
- Local application state: Some preferences (such as your current view or selected field) may be stored in your browser's localStorage to improve your experience. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
We do not use:
- Third-party advertising cookies
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Analytics services that profile individual users (e.g., Google Analytics with user tracking enabled)
- Social media tracking pixels
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings, though doing so will log you out of the application.
Children's Privacy
DirtMath is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at hello@wildrootsgroup.com. We will promptly review and delete such information from our records.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, the service, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- Sending an email to the address associated with your account, and/or
- Displaying a prominent notice within the DirtMath application
The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect when the policy was last updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Your continued use of DirtMath after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the revised policy, you should stop using the service and may request account and data deletion.
The current version of this policy is always available at https://getdirtmath.com/privacy.html.
